چکیده
Development of effective conservation and management strategies requires assessments ecosystem biodiversity status, especially in understudied hotspots global fish diversity. Coral reefs are important habitats for fishes, with known globally. We present the first data on molecular diversity fishes Mischief Reef, largest atoll Nansha Islands. Partial sequences (650 bp) mitochondrial COI gene (Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I) used to identify 209 individuals, representing 101 species, referable 62 genera, 27 families, 8 orders, 1 class. The most abundant orders Perciformes (176 specimens, 84.21%), Tetraodontiformes (13 6.22%), Beryciformes 6.22%). Mean Kimura 2-Parameter genetic distances within 4.51, 13.90, 17.63%, respectively. record Monotaxis heterodon from this region time—a species that may previously have been misidentified as M. grandoculis . In addition, we recognized possible cryptic Lethrinus olivaceus based significantly diverging barcode sequences. Barcode provide new insights into developing further researches fauna, its conservation.

DNA barcoding Australia's fish species.
Two hundred and seven species of fish, mostly Australian marine fish, were sequenced (barcoded) for a 655 bp region of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene (cox1). Most species were represented by multiple specimens, and 754 sequences were generated. The GC content of the 143 species of teleosts was higher than the 61 species of sharks and rays (47.1% versus 42.2%), largely due t...
متن کاملSpecies identification reveals mislabeling of important fish products in Iran by DNA barcoding
This study reports on the molecular identification of fish species from processed products which had a priori been classified as belonging to 5 important species in Iran for human consumption. DNA barcoding using direct sequencing of an approximately 650bp of mitochondrial Cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene revealed incorrect labeling of Narrow-barred Spanish mackerel samples. High occurre...

متن کاملQuaternary coral reef refugia preserved fish diversity.
The most prominent pattern in global marine biogeography is the biodiversity peak in the Indo-Australian Archipelago. Yet the processes that underpin this pattern are still actively debated. By reconstructing global marine paleoenvironments over the past 3 million years on the basis of sediment cores, we assessed the extent to which Quaternary climate fluctuations can explain global variation i...
متن کاملUniversal primer cocktails for fish DNA barcoding
Reliable recovery of the 5′ region of the cytochrome c oxidase 1 (COI) gene is critical for the ongoing effort to gather DNA barcodes for all fish species. In this study, we develop and test primer cocktails with a view towards increasing the efficiency of barcode recovery. Specifically, we evaluate the success of polymerase chain reaction amplification and the quality of resultant sequences us...
